Student Community

DVCA teachers, staff, and parents, understand the unique contribution students make to the school. The focus is on supporting each other and appreciating the ideas, viewpoints and experiences of others by collaborating with students to help shape our community.

Here’s where it gets interesting:

At da Vinci, individuals are encouraged to contribute their own unique skills which together lead to the success of a team. This is the basis for DVCA project-based work and the backbone of the Da Vinci community. Since DVCA is small, we expect students will get along and learn to work with each other. That means you will spend a lot less time dealing with the social drama and cliques that you may have experienced at other junior and senior high schools. Imagine how cool that is.

Successful DVCA students are:

  • Willing to Play with Others
  • Contributors
  • Collaborative
  • Hard Working
  • Open Minded
  • Creative

DVCA students are active participants in their education. You learn from the teachers, local professionals and your peers. Through presentations and debates, DVCA teachers emphasize engagement and critical thinking.

You won’t spend time filling in worksheets, sitting through dull lectures or robotically regurgitating text book information. We like robots, we just don’t want you to be one.

“We are all a big family. We take care of each other and our community and, unlike a lot of people nowadays, we stop to smell the roses on occasion.”

“I push myself constantly because I enjoy what I’m doing. It’s nice to know what I can achieve when I put my mind to it.”
