Da Vinci Charter Academy is excited to announce the implementation of Naviance Succeed, a web based college and career guidance program designed to help students with their individual post secondary goals. Naviance consists of several tools used for planning coursework, researching colleges, and exploring careers. These applications are used at school to promote college and workplace readiness and because Naviance is on-line families and students can use the services at home as well. With the guidance of counselors, teachers and administrators Naviance allows students to establish long and short-term goals and plan for post secondary success.
Students will be given a Naviance account and have time to explore Naviance during the coming weeks. Naviance highlights include:
* Method Test Preparation—for SAT or ACT: Each student will have access to free test preparation for both the SAT and ACT. The method test prep sets up weekly goals and activities to help students ready themselves for college entrance exams.
* Advanced College Searches: Students will search colleges based on a variety of topics and because they create and save their information in a personal account, they can update and review the list frequently.
* Career Interest Inventories: As part of the 10th grade career guidance curriculum, every Da Vinci student will participate in a guided career exploration activity which will introduce them to Naviance and allow them to explore their interests through assessment. Our current junior students did this with another software program last year. Juniors and seniors are welcome to revisit this assessment.
* Career Exploration Database: Students use their interest results (and self generated interest) to learn about career possibilities in Naviance’s expansive database. Careers are then linked to programs and colleges offer the appropriate education and training.
Juniors and Seniors signed up for Naviance last year. The user name is the student’s email address. Students created a unique password. If a student needs to have the password reset, please email the counselor. If an 11th or 12th grade student is new to Da Vinci see the counselor to get added. 10th grade students will be added and get passwords in several months

Parent Connection Now Available
We are pleased to announce that Parent Connection is now up and running within our district. Parent Connection is a web-based service that allows you to view attendance, transcripts, and contact information for your student. You are also able to see this same information for any other students you may have enrolled in Davis schools as well as information regarding classes your student may be co-enrolled in at Davis Senior High School.
In order to log in you must pick up your PIN and password from the Da Vinci office at 1400 E. 8th St. Unfortunately you will need to pick up the information in person with a photo ID, as we can not send this information home with students. Please feel free to contact the office with additional concerns.
